Iuncaria ?

To the N. E. of FIGUERES we find the villages of CABANES and PERALADA. One can go from Cabanes to Peralada borrowing the “Cami del gorg del Matxo” (the Way of the Abyss of the Mule).It would be well the devil if, at the edge of the abyss, there were not RUSHES! Even if there are also rushes (in Catalan or in French : joncs) to... LA JONQUERA, where some archaeologists think that there were the “mutatio” of IUNCARIA. After having crossed the river of the Llobregat, one finds the way of “Peralada al Morassac”. We have marked the fourth ground from an arrow on the left handside. Without knowing, at this day, if it is part of Cabanes or of Peralada...

And zooming in this ground, one distinguishes clearly a difference of dyeing of the vegetation from perfectly square shape: Then IUNCARIA? ... And this is here my translation of what one finds on the "Catalan Vikipedia": "Cabanes is a municipality of the comarca of the Alt Emporda. Cabanes is situated in the plain of the Emporda between two rivers: the Muga and the Llobregat. The inhabitants of Cabanes are known under the name of « Potamolls » (“Wet legs”). This name is owed by the way that the village is situated on a ground liable to flooding."
