I have retired on October 8th, 2001 and, after a part-time mission of a year next to the Regional Service of Fire and of Help, I have stopped, end 2002, every professional activity.
After a break of 6 months, I have given to other activities, time-consuming indeed, but that have left a few time to me to go to surf on the web. And as the idea turned always to my head, I have stored in the bookmarks of my navigator lots of sites treating with the archaeology, with the roman roads and, particularly, with the Via Domitia.
It has allowed to me to verify how much I had to learn in this domain. Especially much I have learned devouring a book published to the Documents of French Archaeology, under the title "Les Voies Romaines du Rhône à l’Ebre, Via Domitia et Via Augusta," under the direction of G. Castellvi, J-P. Comps, J. Kotarba and A. Pezin. And I have also discovered two sites treating with the aerial archaeology:
- The site of J. Dassié: http://www.archaero.com/
And a site on "The aerial archeology in the France of the North":
http://www.archeologie-aerienne.culture.gouv.fr/
It is there that I have learned that one could "interpret" the photos of airplane and that, when the grounds and/or the cultures presented a change of colour, could be something below there. It is complicated a bit more than that is, but the main part is there.
Still photos of airplane must be had. It is only at the beginning of 2005 that I have had access to a CD-ROM of the photo coverage realized in 2000 that the Town Hall of Argelès-sur-mer had bought to the IGN (National Geography Institute). I have recovered the photo covering the territory by the north of the river “Le Tech” (chapel “Sainte Eugénie of Tresmals”) up to “Taxo d’Avall”. To the first glance I have spotted trails that could have some interest between Taxo and the back of the Campsite “La Roseraie”. With the Aid of “Photofiltre” (free software) I have zoomed in the sector in question and I have worked again on the photo working on the filters and the degree of gamma. It that has given unexpected results and, maybe, interesting. (To see underwear here).
